Tour de Corn

August 14-16, 2026

 This A-Maize-Ing bike event has become a signature summer highlight in the Mitchell area, hosted by Palace City Pedalers in conjunction with a long list of sponsors. Riders can choose from 15, 35, 62 and 100 mile routes, starting and ending at The World’s Only Corn Palace! Our popular BBQ lunch festival will be served after the race in the Corn Palace Plaza. With sag stations along the way and friendly local spectators and support, the Tour de Corn brings in hundreds of cyclers from states all across the country. Register early to ensure you get a t-shirt and a sweet swag bag!

Friday Night: Get Pumped!

The fun happens at Kiwanis Park where we will have a Pump Track contest for kids along with free grilled burgers, chips, drinks and ice cream for all Tour de Corn participants and a 7:15 pm community glow ride!

  • 5:00 - 7:30 pm: Registration and SWAG pickup at Kiwanis Park in Mitchell.

  • 5:30 pm: Pump Track Contest. FREE! Categories for kids ages 12 and under. Parents must come and sign liability waiver for any child participating. Helmets required.

  • 5:30 - 7:00 pm: Grilled burger meal included with TdC fee. Meals for non-riding family members available for purchase.

  • 7:15 pm: Glow Ride around Lake Mitchell on paved bike trails. (State law requires both front and rear lights when riding a bike at night. Helmets required.) Minors MUST be accompanied by their parents.


Saturday: Tour de Corn

Gather at the Mitchell Corn Palace to register and get ready to ride on Saturday morning. If you didn't register/check-in on Friday night at Kiwanis Park in Mitchell, you may do so this morning. Helmets are required and water bottles/camelbacks highly encouraged.

  • 5:30 am: 100 mile Registration

  • 6:00 am: 100 mile Ride Start

  • 7:00 am: 62 mile Registration

  • 8:00 am: 62 mile Start

  • 8:30 am: 35/15 mile Registration

  • 9:30 am: 35 mile Start

  • 10:00 am 15 mile Start

11:00 am: Post-Ride Ribs, Music, Door Prizes and Bike Raffle at The World’s Only Corn Palace!

15 Mile Route: A casual ride around Lake Mitchell, beginning at the Corn Palace and ending at The Corn Palace.

35 Mile Route: Our most popular ride starts at the Corn Palace and takes your north of town through some scenic corn country, around Lake Mitchell and back down through town to end at the Corn Palace.

62 Mile Route: See some serious rolling country on our 62-mile route, starting at the Corn Palace and ending at the Corn Palace with a nice loop around the lake.

100 Mile Route: The century ride gets you up early and keeps you going with plenty of great scenery and sag stations along the way. Starts at the Corn Palace and ends at the Corn Palace.


Sunday: Single Track Guide and Ride

This is a great opportunity to try out the single track route under the guidance of Palace City Pedaler volunteers. All ages welcome.

10:30 am: Guided Singletrack Mountain Bike Ride. FREE! Helmets required.
